Volumio Controller stores the ip address of your Volumio system that you enter locally on your phone, to connect automatically the next time.

And to access the internet if the location of album art is set as a web location.

Therefore, Volumio Controller does not request any additional permissions.
The paid version of Volumio Controller does not contain advertisements.
